A lovely stone village house in Tourniki, in the mountains West of Argos.
On two levels with a garden of around 250m2 offering distant sea views and peace and tranquility.
An ideal retreat for someone wanting to really get away from it all off the beaten track.
The upper floor of the house is one big room with a kitchen area at one end, windows on two sides and exposed roof beams.
Downstairs are two rooms with low celings (the floor could perhaps be lowered to make these more useful) one of which has a beautiful vaulted ceiling.
Traditionally the downstairs would have been used to house livestock, and it was recently used for making cheese.
The garden has a large broad leafed tree that provides plenty of shade, and from the end of the garden one can see the sea in the distance.
All around are wonderful mountain views.
Up the lane from the house is the centre of the village where a natural spring gushes from the rock. The village consists of just a handful of houses and a church, and has a wonderfully relaxed peaceful feel.
It took us 30 minutes to drive from Argos, but 20 minutes of that was spent on the last unpaved 5km or so. We are told that this section will be paved in the summer of 2009, which will make the village much more easily accessible - probably less than 15 minutes from Argos.
The house needs work doing, but the basic structure seems sound.
